About the Plantation
Cedar Creek Plantation is a family owned hunting
preserve located in the northwestern part of Butler County, AL. It
is approximately 6 miles northwest of Greenville, AL, adjacent to the
Robert Trent Jones Golf Course, Cambrian Ridge. The Plantation
consists of a little over 2,000 acres that is blessed with great wildlife
habitat. Cedar Creek runs through the middle of the property,
providing scenic views and great locations for hardwoods to grow.
The Cedar Creek Basin contains the southern reaches of Alabama's Black
Belt. This rich, dark soil is famous for the cotton that was grown
on it in the past and for the deer that are grown on it today. The
Plantation has been enjoyed by family and friends since the 1930s.
About Your Hunt
To protect Cedar Creek Plantation
from being over hunted, we limit our hunting to eight hunters at one time.
We are not in the business to mass produce hunts. Our typical
customers are small groups of hunters who are looking for an affordable hunting experience
with a good opportunity to bag a trophy animal. Our emphasis is on
the hunting, and we are not a high-dollar, gourmet cooking, type of
hunting lodge. The facilities are clean and comfortable but not
fancy. For groups of six to eight, we will typically book
the dates so that you will have the property to yourself. Single
day and Multiple day hunts are available. Single-day hunts include one
nights stay at the lodge. Check-in is at 12 noon on day of arrival
and check out is at 11:00am on day of departure. When you arrive you
will be given time to get your gear situated in the lodge and to sight in
your gun or bow if necessary. Your hunts will begin the afternoon
of your arrival and your last hunt will be the morning of your departure.
Before the first hunt all hunters will attend the outfitter's rules
meeting and sign a release form.
About the Lodging
We have two lodges at Cedar Creek Plantation, with the Camphouse being our
primary lodge. It is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath converted residence conveniently
located on the paved road at the entrance to our property. It has a
fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, pots, pans,
dishes, coffee-maker, and a grill. Linens and towels are also
provided. The cabin is our secondary lodging. It is located
two-miles from any paved road with the only neighbors being the wildlife
that thrive on the plantation. The cabin was built using lumber from
the property. The cabin is mainly used as a meeting area before
and after hunts and may be used for lodging on special occasions.
