Turkey Hunting
Picture this!
It's daybreak on a Saturday morning. The woods
are coming alive and all of nature is waking up. Suddenly you hear a
crow cry out in the distance and you instinctively freeze....Bam!
The sound of a distant gobble sends chills up your spine. You look
at your guide, he's grinning, and he motions to you to hurry and set up.
Plopped down by a large oak tree you look around. You find yourself
on the edge of a beautiful pasture with a creek swiftly flowing through a
hardwood bottom behind you. You yelp...Bam! He gobbles again.
He's across the bottom perched on a high ridge waiting for just the right
moment to depart from his throne. You hear the beat of wings and the
cackles of his hens as they float down to check you out. So you
cluck to reassure them and Bam! But wait!...that one was behind you.
You yelp again just to make sure your ears aren't playing tricks on you
and Bam, Bam, Bam. Three different gobblers, all moving your way!
Which one will you take?.....QUIT DREAMING! This is all but a dream
at Cedar Creek Plantation. The Plantation is home to a large number
of birds. We are extremely proud of our turkey flock and the quality
of our gobblers. Birds with 10 inch beards and inch and a quarter
spurs are common. Through a year-round feeding program and keeping
hunting to a minimum we have provided our turkeys with the chance to grow
and multiply to amazing numbers. You may think we're kidding
in the scenario above. We're not! We have had numerous hunts
where we have heard 10 gobblers in one morning. Though it's
impossible to promise this ultimate experience to you we can provide you
with an excellent chance to harvest a trophy bird. Either way you
are sure to have the hunting experience of a lifetime.
